President's Message

For the first time in Society history membership has exceeded 800 members. Thank you to those that have seen the value in membership and belonging to your Society. We will continue to build on this momentum in the future. The strength of numbers can be deafening in a turbulent health care environment.
The year 2008 is under way and your CTSRC is very busy. Calls for nominations have been sent out and the submission deadline is February 15, 2008. Questions should be addressed to Maureen Parmelee at: maureen.parmelee@gmail.com. Remember it is your Society and your help is always appreciated and needed. Positions available are listed at the end of this message. The winners will be announced at the Annual Symposium May 6 & 7, 2008.

Along with the new Board of Directors, winners of the John & Louise Julius Award for outstanding practitioner and the Robert O’Neil Award for outstanding vendor will also be announced at the Annual Symposium. Applications are available on-line. Deadline for submission for these awards is April 4, 2008.
The scholarship award process is underway. Notices and applications are being sent out to the high schools in Connecticut, along with notices to colleges in our state with Respiratory Care Programs. Applications for these awards are available on-line at the Continuing Education page. Deadline for these awards are: High schools-April 5, 2008 and Colleges-July 1, 2008.
Please don’t forget to request time off to attend our 26th Annual Symposium May 6 & 7, 2008. I believe you will be very pleased with the speakers and topics at this years meeting. Brochures will be mailed out soon.
