CT Society for Respiratory Care Student Member to the BOD Application

Student participation in the professional state society and the American Association for Respiratory Care is an important priority for the CTSRC. In keeping with this commitment, the CTSRC board of directors has a position for a student member. The student member must apply to the society’s executive committee who will select the student board member. The selected student will serve a term of 1 year beginning in January 2027 and has the privilege of voice but no vote. The student board member must serve on at least one committee of their choice (excluding education and scholarship) and is expected to attend board meetings according to the society’s bylaws which is to attend 75% of all meetings called.

ELIGIBILITY:

The applicant must submit the following information and meet the listed criteria for eligibility. If ALL documents are not submitted with the completed application, the application will not be considered.

1. The student board member must be an active early professional member of the AARC.

2. Be enrolled in a Respiratory Care program within the state of CT.

3. Commit to bimonthly state society board meetings, held virtually and occasionally in person, typically on the third Wednesday of the month at 4:30 PM. Location details will be provided as needed.

4. Write an essay paper in response to the question contained within this application.

5.Submit this application and the essay by November 30, 2026.
